Full-time (40 hours, 5 days) Research Engineers – Vehicle Control are needed in Brookshire, TX office to
Develop optimal, robust, non-linear and model predictive control algorithms for a complex system operating in challenging real-world autonomous driving scenarios;
Analyze the dynamics and kinematics of mechanical systems, and formulate the control problem mathematically and explore the efficient solution;
Do modeling and system identification through processing observation and data-driven methods;
Develop and implement automated offline data-driven performance benchmark tools;
Deliver high-quality and reliable code for control and estimation modules on autonomous driving trucks;
Conduct system integration and tests, and evaluate and optimize the performance of the controller.
The position requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field; with a minimum 2 years’ experience in vehicle control engineering in the autonomous vehicle industry, including the following: design and implement optimal, robust and model predictive control algorithms and corresponding applications for class 8 autonomous driving truck, build mathematical representation of vehicle dynamic system, design and build offline data-driven control performance benchmark tools; and demonstrated knowledge in control modules, optimal, robust and model predictive control algorithms, Matlab, C++, Python, ROS.
